Founded Owen Thomas & Associates Pty Limited November 2003

Owen has consulted / presented to the boards of Australia's leading and fastest growing organisations including S&P/ASX 100 corporations, offshore listed subsidiaries and Australia's larger private companies. He is a regular speaker at seminars and also frequently quoted in the financial press.

Owen specialises in the area of the design and implementation of executive option and employee equity ownership plans. He is highly numerate and provides capital markets and performance reporting effects for the incentives that he designs.

In addition, to assisting remuneration committees with their remuneration requirements Owen has:

Authored the Director and Executive Remuneration Top 500 Report from 2000 to 2004 inclusive, the pre-eminent executive and director remuneration publication for Australasian executives and directors.
Authored Boardroom Remuneration Review, and other remuneration related articles 2005/2006.
Authored The Australian Employee Share and Option Plan Report 2001, the only share and option plan report specifically designed to cover design and implementation issues as well as market incidence and Corporations Law issues.

Owen's remuneration planning experience, ranging from remuneration planning for small high-level employee groups to broad based incentive plans, compliments his broad academic qualifications.

Owen's knowledge of options and share instruments enables him to bring new ideas and products to remuneration planning.

Prior to 2000 and undertaking a career in remuneration Owen worked for over fifteen years in the treasury area of some of the worlds largest banks. He fulfilled the role of Head of Trading at Rothschild Australia and gathered extensive skills and hands on experience in the analysis and evaluation of risk and returns. Before joining Rothschild Australia he worked as a treasury specialist for KPMG. His treasury background has given him a unique understanding of the valuation and design of executive options and incentives.
